Rycenga is a locally owned and family operated business in Grand Haven, Michigan. For 80 years now, the Rycenga Building Center family has been involved in not only building community infrastructure like new homes and businesses but has been actively involved with supporting the community. Rycenga is a proud supporter of many local nonprofit programs and community events. Aside from these, we support local schools, sports teams, private businesses, friends, and neighbors. Are you a part of a chain like Home Depot or Menards?
No, were a locally-owned and family operated business that has been part of the Grand Haven and Lakeshore communities for over 80 years.
Are you primarily a supplier of tools and hardware or do you provide advice and guidance to your customers?
Both. We carry an exceptional array of materials, hardware, and precision tools for any project, large or small, and we offer outstanding service to homeowners and contractors.
Do you carry lumber for large construction projects?
We carry the best quality regular and pressure-treated lumber for any building project, from ground up new home construction, to additions, to build-outs, to decks. Our staff can advise you on everything from design to cost estimation, as well as recommend the right contractor for the job.
Do you provide hardware and tools for residential homeowners or do you work with professional contractors?
Our experienced interior designers provide assistance with all facets of the kitchen and bath design process, from start to finish, everything from custom palettes to cabinet layout. We offer 3 different consulting Tiers. Tier 1 is complimentary and includes an instore or on-site consultation with our design experts, a quote with your customer provided measurements, as well as black & white perspective drawings. Tier 2 involves a $100 design fee, and along with the elements in Tier 1, youll receive a computer rendered 360 degree panoramic view, and 2 revisions. Tier 3 involves a $200 design fee, and includes everything in Tier 2, as well as 3-dimensional drawings, and 4 revisions.

This is a long established business, and in many ways feels like it. They appear to stick with the tried-and-true. So I found I had to look elsewhere for the more customized and unique products for my home. (I got my custom ProVia front door from Markin co. And my unusual & high quality siding from Richards - both of these companies were willing to spend the time with an individual home owner to select custom products)
Does not feel like a lot of innovation, or depth of knowledge regarding their product lines or specialty options available. But then they appear to be very busy with their builder customers so what they do must work for them.
